James Fox holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Motion Picture and Television from the Academy of Art University, with an emphasis in directing and producing. He has authored multiple published novels and is an award-winning screenwriter and filmmaker whose work spans science fiction, fantasy, and thrillers. His fiction includes The Sol Saga series and the co-authored novel In Darkness Dwells.

With more than 20 years of experience in film and video production, Mr. Fox serves as the CEO and principal writer and director of the production company Dawnrunner. He is also a principal partner at Moving On Films, where he writes original screenplays and adapts novels for film and television. His work has earned awards and recognition at numerous film festivals and screenwriting competitions. Mr. Fox has also helped design film curriculum at the high school and undergraduate levels for a summer film program and a school. He frequently speaks and facilitates workshops at writing and film events online and “on the ground,” offering students a practical perspective on character motivation, story structure, and worldbuilding for novels and screenplays. Mr. Fox lives in California and continues to develop original fiction and screenplays, including a television adaptation of The Sol Saga.

Heather Leonard, MA, MFA, holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing with an emphasis in Genre Fiction from Western Colorado University; a Master of Arts in English from the State University of New York at Buffalo; and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Communications from California State University, Fullerton. Ms. Leonard began her teaching career leading first-year writing courses and directing the Law School Writing Center at SUNY Buffalo, and today she evaluates student writing for the University of Texas at Austin’s OnRamps dual-enrollment rhetoric program.

With nearly two decades of hospitality leadership experience, Ms. Leonard has also designed and facilitated training programs and mentored hundreds of young adults in their first jobs. Ms. Leonard’s feature writing appears regularly in The Crested Butte Magazine and the Gunnison Country Times, and she is currently enjoying revising one of her own novels, a literary thriller. When not writing or teaching with Aquinas Writing Advantage students, you can find Ms. Leonard helping plan the Mountain Words Literary Festival, serving on local nonprofit boards, and, of course, getting lost in a good book. She lives in the Colorado Rockies with her dog, Honey, and two elusive kitties.

Andrew Wright, MFA, was born and raised in Taiwan, where he discovered a love for writing at a young age. After high school, he moved to the United States and earned a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing with a minor in Theater from Oklahoma Baptist University. He then attended Western Colorado University, earning a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Genre Fiction. Mr. Wright is also a three-time alumnus of the Futurescapes Writing Workshop. As a novelist writing world-hopping portal fantasy and stories set in the Greek mythological backdrop, Andrew currently lives and writes in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Fun fact: Mr. Wright played collegiate Quidditch!
