Writing Support Specialists
with Aquinas Writing Advantage

Turn Writing Struggle Into
Writing Confidence

Personalized, one-on-one writing instruction with a highly-skilled Writing Support Specialist — designed to help your student truly "get" writing.

What Is a Writing Support Specialist?

Writing Support Specialists are not casual tutors. They are expert writing instructors and Master Teachers who…

  • Know how to diagnose writing challenges quickly
  • Make writing understandable, not overwhelming
  • Build skill while building confidence
  • Work one-on-one with your student in real-time
  • Guide writing development with warmth, patience, and proven teaching excellence

Your student doesn’t just get help. Your student gets a coach, a mentor, and an expert teacher walking together with you every step of the way.

Who Is This For?

The Writing Support Specialist service is ideal for middle and high school students working with the Aquinas Writing Advantage (AWA) curriculum/program who need clarity, confidence, and strong writing skills.

Writing support is especially helpful if…

  • Your student finds writing challenging.
You’ve tried programs. You’ve tried working together. But you still face frustration. Your student needs someone highly skilled who can make writing click.

  • Your student understands most things — except “THIS ONE WRITING THING.”
Maybe it’s essays. Maybe it’s thesis statements. Maybe it’s structure, grammar, or clarity. Scores are slipping… and you need expert help to fix it now, not someday.

  • Your student has fallen behind and needs a reset.
Life happens (illnesses, moves, stress, transitions). Motivation can dip.
A Writing Support Specialist helps your student get re-centered, supported, and moving forward again.

  • Writing is difficult due to medical, learning, or personal challenges.
One-on-one instruction allows us to help you to adapt, personalize, slow down, speed up, and meet your student’s needs exactly. We meet you where you are — without pressure or overwhelm.

  • English is not your student’s first language.
Personalized coaching makes learning English writing clearer, faster, and far less frustrating.

  • Your student dislikes writing (because right now… it feels hard)
When writing makes sense, confidence grows. And when confidence grows, students begin to enjoy writing — sometimes for the very first time.

If your student is feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, or simply “stuck” when it comes to writing, you’re not alone. Writing can be one of the most intimidating school subjects for families… but it doesn’t have to stay that way.

With an Aquinas Writing Advantage Writing Support Specialist, your student meets LIVE (via Zoom) with a Master Teacher who understands how students learn, how to make writing clear, and how to build confidence step-by-step. Together, we turn confusion into clarity and reluctance into real skill.

Can we bring work from other classes?

Because the Aquinas Writing Advantage courses are intentionally built around a mastery-pathway structure, unless there are special circumstances, your student will use our curriculum for the teaching flow.

With AWA, your student receives:

  • Strong writing foundations
  • Clear academic writing structure
  • Grammar and mechanics understanding
  • Advanced writing skill development
  • Specialized fiction and creative writing guidance for the young author

Your specialist will help your student apply new skills to schoolwork — but the learning pathway remains AWA-based for best results.
