Quiz Approval/Proctor Setting
If your student’s course includes quizzes, a new feature lets parents oversee and approve when their student begins a quiz. This approval is called a “proctor setting.” A proctor setting requires your approval before your student can start a quiz.

Why Use a Proctor Setting?
With the quiz approval setting enabled, a parent can track…
- When the student takes (and finishes) the quiz
- How long the student takes to complete the quiz
- The student’s scores
How it Works…
1. To enable the setting, the parent must turn the setting on. Follow this link to enable quiz approval in the learning management system (Caravel). Once you’re on the Caravel home screen, go to the upper-right corner and click your profile. Then, from the drop-down menu, select the settings icon. Toward the bottom of the listed options, look for “quiz approval.” For a visual guide, click here.
2. When the student is ready to take the quiz, in Caravel, he or she will click “Start quiz.” The parent(s) will then receive an email prompting them to approve the student to take the quiz. When the student finishes the quiz, the parent will also receive an email confirming completion, including the time it took to complete the quiz and the student’s score.
